OVERVIEW

The new Business Licence Bylaw No. 1400, 2025 (link coming soon!) was adopted on October 14, 2025, which sets out new requirements specific to mobile vendors.

Business Licence Bylaw Update

In March 2025 the Town engaged the public (including business operators, residents, and tourists) asking for feedback regarding the operation of mobile vendors (i.e., food truck) businesses within the town boundaries. Individuals provided comments by completing a survey.
Planning staff will present this information to Council and outline policy amendment options that align with the recent updates to the Zoning Bylaw and the Business Licence Bylaw.

APPLYING FOR A BUSINESS LICENCE

- a parking plan indicating the location of all on-site vehicle parking as required by the Town's Zoning Bylaw.
- the hours of operation.
- keeping the area occupied by the mobile vendor and surrounding public places clean and clear of waste, discarded debris, and food stains.
- where the mobile vendor business includes the sale of foods, the owner or operator shall hold a valid local health authority approval.
