The Town of Osoyoos is committed to creating an inclusive community where everyone can participate fully in civic life. Since 2013, the Town has been recognized as a designated Age-Friendly and Accessible community and has maintained an active Accessibility and Age-Friendly Advisory Committee.
Established by Council resolution, the Accessibility and Age-Friendly Advisory Committee (AAFAC) provides advice and recommendations on accessibility matters. The committee’s work focuses on identifying and removing physical and social barriers that may limit residents’ ability to live active, engaged, and independent lives.
In 2023, the Town adopted its Accessibility Plan. This plan serves as a framework for identifying barriers, setting priorities, and guiding actions that support a more accessible and inclusive community for people of all ages and abilities.
