Council committees are created under the Community Charter and provide an opportunity for members of the public to work collaboratively and provide advice on matters referred to them by Council through their Terms of Reference.
Committee vacancies are advertised through newspaper, website, and social media, with most vacancies occurring near the beginning of the Council term.
Select & Standing Committees
The Accessibility and Age Friendly Advisory Committee (AAFAC) provides recommendations to matters pertaining to accessibility and reports these matters to Council in order to improve accessibility in the Town of Osoyoos.
The committee will oversee the “Age Friendly Program” and will monitor and review the recommendations that are identified as part of the age-friendly process. They will provide advice for future planning of municipal services, programs and facilities.Meetings will be held on the third Thursday of every month and notice will be given by the chair. Meetings will be held at Sonora Community Centre, 8505 68 Ave, Osoyoos, BC.

The Community Services Advisory Committee provides an objective view in the public interest and to give impartial and informed higher-level advice to municipal staff and Council on matters related to the provision and delivery of indoor and outdoor recreation and leisure opportunities, and development of environmental programs designed to raise community awareness and achieve greater sustainability of the community.
Meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every other month and notice will be given by the chair. Meetings will be held at Sonora Community Centre, 8505 68 Ave, Osoyoos, BC.

The South Okanagan Aquatic Centre Advisory Committee’s mandate is to act in an advisory and leadership role to facilitate the process to develop a South Okanagan Aquatic Centre feasibility study on behalf of the Service Area Participants. The Service Area Participants have not delegated any expenditure or decision-making authority to the Committee. The Committee is to serve in an advisory capacity and lead the process to complete a feasibility study.
Minutes
The Grant Evaluation Committee mandate is to provide recommendations to Council on the Town’s Community Service Grant Applications, the Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) Visitor Enhancement funding, and any other grant or funding opportunities that Council makes available to community groups or organizations.
The Committee will meet after the deadline established by the Community Services Grant Policy (FIN-001) and RMI Visitor Enhancement Funding Guidelines.
The Child Care Advisory Committees (CCAC) mandate is to meet with cross sectoral agencies and provide input and advise to Town Council in the planning, promotion and affordability of childcare in the Town of Osoyoos.
The Committee will meet once a quarter or when required. The term for this committee coincides with the term of the current Town Council, which ends November 3, 2026.
