Community Services
The Community Services Department operates and maintains the Sonora Community Centre, Sun Bowl Arena, Desert Park, and Desert Sunrise Marina. Offering programs for adults, children, and families, support community events, manage the memorial bench program, and maintain park washrooms.
Corporate Services
The Corporate Services Department is responsible for Corporate Officer duties under the Community Charter, Bylaw Enforcement, communications, Freedom of Information requests, and records management. The department also oversees Human Resources, insurance, land matters, leases and agreements, local government elections, transit, victim services, and main reception operations.
Financial Services
The Finance Department provides financial advice and guidance to Council and Town management. The department oversees financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting, utility billing, payroll, investments, property taxation and collections, purchasing and inventory control, and risk management, including loss control and insurance.
Operational Services
The Operational Services Department maintains and operates the Town’s core infrastructure and services. This includes the domestic water system, agricultural irrigation system, wastewater collection system, roads, sidewalks, parks, municipal buildings, and other essential community assets.
Planning & Development Services
The Planning and Development Services Department manages land use planning and growth management, building permits and business licensing, the collection of securities and development cost charges, and supports economic development.
Protective Services - Osoyoos Fire Rescue
Osoyoos Fire Rescue provides prompt, professional fire and life safety services through dedicated staff and ongoing advanced training. The department focuses on prevention, public education, teamwork, and strong community connections.
