• Payment Options

  Internet or telephone banking
  Make sure to make your payments under your utility account number and not your property tax. Account numbers can be found at the top of your bill. Search Osoyoos in "add a payee" and choose the utilities or rural water option. 

  Equal Payment Plan 
  Pay your bill monthly through your automatic withdrawal from your bank account (You will still receive an invoice each quarter but it will note "EPP" on the bill, no action is required). Fill out the application here and email the completed application with a void cheque to finance1@osoyoos.ca. If you are changing bank accounts or need to stop your payments, contact the Finance department to update your information.

  At your Financial Institute
  Present your bill for payment at most financial institutions in Canada. The Town is not responsible for errors made by financial institutions.

  Please allow enough time for mailed remittances to reach our office by the due date. We do not accept postmarks as proof of payment. Please use alternative payment methods in the event of a postal disruption.

  In Person at Town Hall
  After hour payments can be dropped in the mail slot beside the front doors to Town Hall
  Methods of payment accepted are:

  • Cheque/ money order
  • Credit card (Visa/Mastercard) convenience fee applies. 

  Online by Credit Card
  Visit www.osoyoos.ca/optionpay to pay by credit card. Convenience fees apply.
   

• Late Payments

  There will be a 10% penalty on any outstanding balances after the billing deadline. All payments/credits will be applied to the oldest outstanding charge(s) first. 

   Balances that are outstanding and unpaid by December 31^st will be deemed to be taxes in arrears and added to the property taxes on that property. 

• Rentals

  Utility Billing accounts are attached to a property in the owner's name. As the landlord, you will need to decide how to bill utilities to your tenant (e.g. part of monthly rent, or as an addition to rent, and if you provide them with your account number to pay the bill).

• Moving or Selling a property

  Utility billing accounts are tied to a property, not a person, and don’t close when a customer moves to a different property. BC Assessment will provide the City with new ownership information.

  When a property sells, the estimated utility charges and balances will need to be reconciled by lawyers and real estate agents as part of the sale, similar to how tax balances are calculated through a statement of adjustments.
