Take Action on Radon, a coalition of national health organizations, is distributing 100 free radon test kits to raise awareness about the health risks associated with radon in anticipation of the upcoming National Radon Awareness Month in November. All Osoyoos residents are invited to participate in the 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge and receive a free radon kit to test their own home.
A free online Radon Information Session will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM. All residents are encouraged to attend, whether or not they take part in the testing program, to learn about radon, its health effects, and Health Canada’s recommendations for homeowners.

Funding for this program is provided by Health Canada and supported locally through the Take Action on Radon initiative, led by the Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (CARST) and the Canadian Cancer Society.
