The Town of Osoyoos is proud to participate in the provincial Take Action on Radon program. We are making 100 free radon test kits available to residents while supplies last.

Why test for radon

Radon is an odourless, tasteless and colourless gas caused by the breakdown of uranium in soil that can enter buildings and enclosed spaces undetected. Over time, elevated radon exposure increases the risk of lung cancer. Testing is the only way to know your home’s radon level.

Who should test

  • Homeowners, renters, and condominium owners in Osoyoos.
  • Basements and ground-level living spaces are priority areas.
  • If you have never tested or it’s been more than two years.

Program Details

  • 100 free radon test kits are available to Osoyoos residents. Municipal Hall will also be a pickup located for Area A Residents of the Regional District Okanagan Similkameen.

  • One kit per household while supplies last. (Waitlist available)
