Sri-Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run

Founded in 1987 by Sri Chinmoy, the Peace Run and has been supported by numerous world leaders including Pope John Paul II, President Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, Mother Theresa, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, among others. In Canada the Peace Run has received support from Hon. Michaelle Jean, First Nations Chief Phil Fontaine, Hon. Peter Milliken as well as athletes, academics and entertainers.

The Peace Run is the longest torch relay run in the world – occurring every second year, the Run takes place in more than 100 countries on six continents sharing with millions of world leaders and luminaries, children and communities the message that world harmony starts in the heart of each individual and from there spreads to the family, community and the world at large.  The Run does not seek to raise funds or promote any religious or political cause.

The Peace Run will be stopping in Osoyoos and all are invited to share in the experience, have the opportunity to hold the torch and run with the team.
