PUBLIC NOTICE Water Turbidity for Irrigation Districts No. 8 And 9
The Town of Osoyoos is experiencing spring runoff conditions, which has created higher turbidity levels in Osoyoos Lake. Currently the domestic water in these districts is still being supplied by intakes directly from Osoyoos Lake.
Turbidity is not considered to be a health concern however it will affect the appearance of water.
Turbidity is defined as the cloudiness or haziness of a fluid caused by large numbers of particles that are generally invisible to the naked eye, similar to smoke in air.
We suggest you run your cold water in your bathtub or run your garden hose until the water is clear.
Reminder Boil Water Notice is in effective from April 1, 2017 until November 16, 2017.
Currently the Town is in the process of water twinning Districts No. 8 and 9.
