EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Executive Assistant Deadline December 14

The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC, located in the beautiful South Okanagan Valley, is accepting applications for the position of Executive Assistant/Communications Coordinator.

Position Information

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this full-time management exempt position is responsible for providing confidential secretarial and administrative support services, including communications and IT, to the CAO, Mayor, Council, and the Senior Management Team. The work is varied and complex and a flexible, pro-active approach and the ability to multi-task is required.

The EA is responsible for the Town's communications activities and works with the CAO and other departments to ensure that the Town's Corporate branding and communication standards are upheld. The position is expected to research, prepare, and implement communication activities across the spectrum of municipal communication modes to provide information to the community and stakeholders and facilitate public engagement. In addition to communications activities, the Executive Assistant provides IT support and training, plans and implements hardware and software requirements, and is the staff liaison to the Town's IT contractor.

The EA is the first point of contact and liaison between the community, the CAO, and the Mayor. The EA is expected to demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and build constructive and effective relationships with internal and external customers, and be committed to meeting their needs in a timely and accurate manner.

It is Canada's only true desert, with the lowest annual precipitation and Sonoran Desert flora and fauna.
