EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY for Deputy Fire Chief Deadline April 28
The Resort Municipality of Osoyoos, BC located in the beautiful South Okanagan Valley is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Fire Chief - Fire Prevention. The Osoyoos Fire Department is a composite department consisting of three full-time Chief Officers and a team of paid on call firefighters. This is an exciting time at the Osoyoos Fire Department and this new position will assist the Fire Chief in developing and implementing the Fire Prevention business model at the Town of Osoyoos.
Position Information
This full-time exempt management position will assist the Fire Chief in organizing and leading all fire prevention, inspection, investigation, pre-planning, and public education programs. This key leadership role is integral to the operations and administration of the Fire Department, assuming the position as incident commander at emergency incidents of all types when in the “on Duty Chief” role.
You will be an excellent communicator, possess strong leadership, interpersonal, financial management skills and will have a demonstrated history of improving performance utilizing innovation and efficiency. A high degree of independence, initiative and judgement is required for this position. Proven effective leadership and strong relationship building are essential skills as you manage, lead, coach and mentor a diverse team of fire service personnel and communicate with elected officials, town staff and the general public. You must be flexible, highly motivated, professional and results driven.
