Message from Mayor (Updated November 20)
Just yesterday, the Minister of Finance and our Provincial Health Officer announced new Province-wide restrictions to reduce the spread of COVID-19 that are in effect until midnight on December 7, 2020. Those restrictions are far-reaching and all persons should review the detailed guidance regarding those restrictions found at the links below.
As a community we have worked hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19 over the last several months and we are being called upon again to redouble our efforts and hopefully put a stop to the recent increase in the number of confirmed cases in the Province. We understand how difficult these measures are for individuals, persons in care homes, our businesses and others and we encourage you to remain vigilant and do your part.
Thank you all for continuing to take the critical steps to keep you and your families safe and healthy. Please continue to wash your hands often, stay at least 2 meters away from others, stay home when you are sick and postpone any non-essential travel plans. It has been mandated that we all wear masks when we are inside workplaces and businesses and those requirements apply to all Town facilities too.
These measures aren’t forever but they are for now.
Mayor Sue McKortoff

While the COVID-19 situation is changing daily around the world, we are mindful that our community is concerned about the potential impact of the further spread of the coronavirus and we are acting accordingly to do what we can to support public safety.
