BUSINESS

Cottonwood Drive Reconstruction Tender Award – Council approved awarding of the tender for the 2013 Cottonwood Road Reconstruction project to Grizzly Excavating Ltd., in the amount of $459,648.00, plus contingency.

Goose Management contract – Approval was given to proceed with the goose management project and staff was requested to provide a progress report at the December 2nd regular meeting, with projected budget figures for 2014.

Main Lift Station Forcemain Upgrading Tender Award – Council approved awarding of the tender for the lift station forcemain upgrading to Cantex-Okanagan Construction at a cost of $944,872.95.

“Form Based” Zoning Approach for SE Meadowlark Area Plan – Council approved adoption of Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw amendments with respect to implementing the SE Meadowlark Area Plan.

Splash Park update – Staff provided Council with an update on Phase 1 of the new Splash Park. A reminder that during the week of September 23 to 29, Tim Horton’s restaurant will donate proceeds from the sale of “Smile” cookies to the Osoyoos Splash Park fundraising.

Okanagan South Regional Hospital District – Council reaffirmed it support for the Penticton Patient Care Tower. Council endorsed a resolution passed by the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional Hospital District Board endorsing the “Building Patient Care in the South Okanagan” project.

The public is encouraged to attend the Committee of the Whole meetings which take place in Council Chambers at 9:00AM on the morning of the Regular Open Council meetings at 2:00 PM to learn additional in-depth information regarding upcoming business.
