REGULAR OPEN MEETING
Delegations
- Mayor McKortoff presented Director Zakall a 30 year pin and Director Van Vianen a 35 year pin from the Local Government Management Association to recognize their years of dedicated service in Local Government.
Business
- Council approved Development Variance Permit No. 18-04 (9413 Spartan Drive).
- Council awarded Lowther Electric Ltd the contract for the 2018 Installation Canal Pathway Lighting for $12,229.01 (taxes and contingency sum included).
Reports
- Councillor Youngberg attended the UBCM meetings in Whistler.
- Councillor Campol encouraged media and politicians to look at the lack of support in communities for Children and Youth Mental awareness and hopes pressure will be put on the Provincial Government.
- Councillor King attended the UBCM Meetings. Met with the Minister of Education, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Parliamentarian Secretary for Emergency Preparedness and Minister of Tourism and Arts and Culture.
- Mayor McKortoff toured the Composting Facility in Whistler.
- Mayor McKortoff Congratulated the Elks for their 60th Anniversary in our community.
- Mayor McKortoff Desert Spirit Dragon Boat Team is having races on September 21st and 22nd.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
- Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1085.111, 2018 (9141 Main Street) – This amendment is required as a car wash/oil change service station is not currently permitted use in the C2 – Shopping Centre Commercial zone. The proposed building is of a smaller scale than the four existing commercial buildings in the Gateway Plaza, and will utilize vacant undeveloped commercial space.
- Foreshore and Lake Zoning Bylaw No. 1294.02, 2018 & Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1230.20, 2017 – The second public hearing is being held as new information has been provided to Council and one year has lapsed since the first public hearing. Amendments to the Town of Osoyoos Foreshore and Lake Zoning Bylaw No. 1294, 2012 are proposed to bring the bylaw more into conformity with Provincial regulations, round out regulatory requirements, and add clarification to some provisions of the bylaw. Amendment to Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 1230, 2007 is proposed to incorporate a new Foreshore and Lake Development Permit Area (FLDPA), for general permissions of private moorages.
SPECIAL OPEN MEETING

The public is encouraged to attend the Committee of the Whole meetings which take place in Council Chambers at 9:00 am on the morning of the Regular Open Council meetings at 2:00 pm to learn additional in-depth information regarding upcoming business.
