COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING
Business
- 2017 Committee Appointments-Council reviewed the 2015/16 Special and Standing Committee list and proposed changes: EDAC – Councillor King will be representative with Councillor Youngberg as alternated. Staff are to confirm those appointed to the Restorative Justice Committee are willing to serve another year.
REGULAR OPEN MEETING
- Wibit Inflatable Park Survey Results- Council has directed staff to proceed with a Request for Proposal for the establishment of a Wibit water park at Legion Beach.
Bylaws
- Cemetery Bylaw No. 1325, 2016 – Cemetery Bylaw No. 1325, 2016 was adopted. This bylaw has included all recommendations from Consumer Protection BC.
- Animal Control and Licensing Bylaw No. 1316, 2016 -Animal Control and Licensing Bylaw No. 1316, 2016 was Adopted. This bylaw amalgamates the previous cat control bylaw into the animal control bylaw.
Business
- Mayor McKortoff was appointed to the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen Board with Councillor Rhodes as the alternate.
- Councillor Youngberg was appointed to the Okanagan Regional Library Board with Councillor Campol as the alternate
- Council resolved not to renew the lease with Desert Park Exhibition Society at this time.
- Council directed staff to forward the attached policy recommendations to School District #53.
Reports
- Councillor King attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony and thanked citizens for support of the veterans.
- Councillor King attended the Destination Osoyoos Economic Development Committee where they identified their priorities for the 2017 year.
- Councillor King encouraged everyone to attend the event that Mount Baldy will be hosting starting on December 3rd.
- Councillor King encouraged everyone to attend the Christmas Light Up that is being held the weekend of December 2nd.
- Councillor Youngberg shared the Okanagan Regional Library Strategic Plan for 2016-2019
- Mayor McKortoff encouraged everyone to get a library card.
- Mayor McKortoff congratulated Helen Powers for publishing her first novel “Scarlett”
- Mayor McKortoff reminded everyone that the Oliver Christmas Light Up is this weekend.
- Mayor McKortoff encouraged everyone to attend Toys for Tots and Teens at Smitty’s on December 2nd.

The public is encouraged to attend the Committee of the Whole meetings which take place in Council Chambers at 9:00AM on the morning of the Regular Open Council meetings at 2:00 PM to learn additional in-depth information regarding upcoming business.
