RCMP Sgt. Randy Bosch is proposing a Town Meeting with residents regarding the reoccurring crime issues happening in Town and surrounding Area
BYLAWS

Parks and Recreation Commission Establishment Bylaw Repeal Bylaw No. 1315, 2015 received first three readings
-
Proposed Amendment to Traffic Bylaw No. 1256.02 received first three readings
BUSINESS
- Animal Control and Licensing Bylaw No. 1316, 2015 – Looking at removing prohibitions and work with regulating dog control

Community Energy Leadership Program – Council support a grant application to offset the costs of installing building controls at the Sonora Community Centre
-
Tot Playground – Council approved the design and quote from Rec Tec Industries for the tot playground in the amount of $64,456.97 to be purchased immediately with a spring 2016 installation

2016 Council Meeting Schedule was approved

Mayor McKortoff was appointed to the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen Board

Councillor Youngberg was appointed to the Okanagan Regional Library Board

RDOS Heritage Conservation Bylaw - Council resolved that the Town of Osoyoos notify the RDOS Board of Directors and consent to the adoption of the Bylaw

Music in the Park – Council approved allocating $6,225 from the 2015 Resort Municipality Initiative program budget to the 2016 Music in the Park program

Letter of Support Violence Free BC – Council resolved to send a letter of support for Desert Sun Counselling’s grant application for the Violence Free Healing and Rebuilding After Violence Against Aboriginal Women

Encourage people to attend Osoyoos Coyotes games and to support the Festival of Trees at Spirit Ridge

Meeting held by RDOS regarding budgeting, regional services and other concerns

Met with Interior Health and South Okanagan General Hospital regarding availability of doctors in the region

The public is encouraged to attend the Committee of the Whole meetings which take place in Council Chambers at 9:00AM on the morning of the Regular Open Council meetings at 2:00 PM to learn additional in-depth information regarding upcoming business.
