REGULAR OPEN MEETING
Bylaw
- Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 1230.25, 2020 and Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1085.127, 2020 were read for a third time. If adopted these amendments would allow for the implementation of Phase 2 of the Meadowlark Plan.
Business
- Council directed staff to prepare a positive letter of support in response to Cascadia Airways request of March 2, 2020.
Reports
- Councillor King advised that minimum wage in BC was increased to $14.60 as of June 1st.
- Councillor King advised that the Federal government announced funding for Municipalities.
- Councillor Bennett attended a Destination Osoyoos Board meeting via Zoom.
- Councillor Harvey attended a virtual quarterly Okanagan Regional Library meeting. Osoyoos Library branch is doing curb-side pickup.
- Mayor McKortoff advised Fire Chief McMahon and Sgt. Bayda went on a tour on the new RCMP boat. RCMP will be doing more frequent checks on the lake this year.
- Mayor McKortoff encouraged residents to take the pledge for Make Water Work challenge which is through the Okanagan Basin Water Board.
- Mayor McKortoff advised that Market on Main starts on June 13th at the Town square.
- Mayor McKortoff encouraged everyone to support local businesses.
- Mayor McKortoff advised Destination Osoyoos has a promotion going on to support local businesses.
